—-is the German word for scissors cutting. This is done by using small sharp scissors made especially for this art, cutting the design from paper and attaching to a background sheet with tiny dots of glue. I used to do a lot of this art, and have a huge album full of cut images ready to mount on background paper. Here are a couple I thought you would be interested in seeing.
The one on red background is the Twelve Days of Christmas, and the one on blue is a depiction of Noah’s Ark. Both are made by folding the paper in half and cutting half of the image through both thicknesses. It is tedious work, but I love doing it. I think I will frame the red one and hang it for Christmas. Both would fit a standard 8-1/2 x 11 frame, or could be matted with a 11 x 14 mat and framed. I will have some more images to show you soon.
