One of the highlights of my week is Monday afternoon when my daughter, Carol, and I attend a mixed media painting group at the Pittsboro Senior Center. This is a “mixed” group, from all walks of life who enjoy sharing with each other our various works of art. At the beginning of each session, we have a “show and tell” where we share the projects we are working on, or have completed the previous week. It is nice to get the critiques from all the members of the group. The medium for the majority of the group is watercolor, but some do graphite drawings, pastel chalk drawings, pen and ink, acrylic, etc. For the next two weeks, we will have one of our local artists come and demonstrate different painting methods. Her name is Shannon Bueker, and she is well-known in the area for both watercolor and acrylic paintings. If you would like to see some of her work, click on Not Now Kato on the right under blogs I follow. It will take you to her blog and website. Here are a few photos taken last Monday.
The picture at the beginning of the post is of Christine de Graffenriedt, Carol Newnam and “Z” Hazel Le Blanc. Sorry, Several of our “regulars” were absent from the photos. Will try to get a photo of Shannon on Monday. Thanks for coming by.
